Marian C. Rexus 1942-2021 Marian Clark Rexus, 79, passed away on October 10, 2021, in Couer d'Alene, Idaho due to complications from COVID-19. Marian was born on May 19, 1942 in Seattle, Washington to Philip and Grace Gruger. Marian graduated from Highline High School in 1960 and quickly met the love of her life, Fred Rexus. Fred and Marian were married on December 29, 1960 starting a wonderful 50-year marriage. In 1970, Fred and Marian moved to Kennewick where they bought 50 acres and built a beautiful home. This is where Marian came in to her own. Her love of animals expressed itself through raising cows, horses, pigs, dogs and many cats. Marian became a 4-H leader, helping her kids and many others learn to ride and show horses. Raising kids and running the farm was tough but Marian excelled at it. She had the gift of sewing and over many years created countless outfits, blankets, pillows and her specialty, quilts! Her beautiful quilts won many 1st place ribbons and were a sought-after item by many! Once the kids had finished school, Mom took on a new challenge buying the gift and fabric store, Fantasticks, in Kennewick in 1991. Mom ran the business for 10 years before deciding to build their dream house on the hill on West 53rd where they lived for many years. They then downsized to a condo for a few years. After Fred passed away in 2011, Marian bought herself a motorhome and traveled extensively. She especially liked Central Utah where daughter Andrea and Jeff had moved. After several visits there, she decided she liked it so much that in 2014 she moved to Spring City, Utah, a small, beautiful and peaceful town where she made many friends. In February of 2020, Mom felt it was time to move one last time and be closer to family. She came to Post Falls, Idaho where Alison and husband Mark live. Marian was kind, gentle, caring, generous and accepting, always choosing to believe in someone's best side. She cared deeply about those she loved and had such a great sense of humor! She loved music of all kinds but was especially fond of soul and soft rock. Marian was one of a kind and will be missed by everyone who knew her! Marian is preceded in death by parents, Phillip and Grace Gruger; brother, Robert Gruger; sister, Anne Erikson; husband, Fred; and daughter, Andrea Charboneau. She is survived by daughter, Alison Boyle (Mark), Idaho; Andrea's husband, Jeff, Wyoming; son, Allen Rexus, Washington; grandsons, Adrian Rexus and Nickalas Rexus (Rachel), Washington, Cameron Charboneau, Arizona; granddaughters, Morgan Keller (Ryan), Idaho, Kisha Hanley, Washington, Sidney Boyle, Idaho, Karissa Palmer, Washington; and three great-grandchildren, Kaell, Makenna and Marie.
