Marguerite K Casey was born at 1:30PM on August 22, 1939 in Rigby, Idaho at home to Thelma and John Keller. She was born three months premature and was heralded by the local paper as "The Tiniest Baby Honors Awarded Rigby Infant". She was considered a "Miracle Baby' as she was no longer than the average sized hand and fed through a medicine dropper. Dr. Tall administered a blood transfusion immediately upon her arrival to the Idaho Falls LDS Hospital, and maintained her health until she was well enough to be discharged six months later. Growing up, she attended Beaver Dam elementary school in Opportunity, Montana and graduated from Anaconda High School. At an early age, Marguerite met the love of her life, Merle Casey and reconnected with him when he was in college. They married in 1959 at the Idaho Falls LDS Temple in Idaho Falls, Idaho. They raised a family of seven children who include: Paul I. Casey (deceased), Rachel T. Smith of Stansbury Park, UT, Evelyn V. Casey of Lake Havasu, AZ, Roger M. Casey of West Richland, WA, Tammy J. Casey of Richland, WA, Maxine R. Buchanan of Portland, OR and Heidi J. Sollars of Litchfield Park, AZ. She also has 14 grandchildren, Jake, Matthew, Nicole, Shannon, Jonah, Eric, Daphanie, Samantha, Makala, Michael, Zachary, Tiffany, Josh, and Alexandria and seven great-grandchildren, Aidan, Luke, Alder, Adric, Brooklyn, Amelia and Jesse. Marguerite loved animals, especially cats and loved to embroider and knit, she says "I never got the hang of crocheting". She loved to scrapbook newspaper clippings of her friends and family, travel to various landmarks to include: Yellowstone Park, Glacier Park and others. Marguerite had a gift of conversation, she could meet a complete stranger, and if you didn't know better, you would have thought she was talking to a long lost friend. Marguerite moved to Tri-Cities, Washington in 1981 with her family to find work when Anaconda, MT shut down their smelter plant. She attended the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and loved every minute of it. She worked in various organizations within the church that kept her busy and earned her "Golden Gleaner Award" and was a "Daughter of the Utah Pioneers". She had an extremely strong faith in the Gospel which she lived by and maintained throughout her life. Nothing was more important to her than her family, she loved her children with all her heart and enjoyed watching them grow up and choose their professions. She brought light and laughter to so many lives, and she will be missed by many. We love you Mom! You are our hero! Her family would like to thank the Richland Fire Department for responding so quickly and their professionalism and compassion, Kadlec Hospital for their unceasing efforts, Dial-a-Ride drivers and especially the DaVita family that took such loving care and always brought a smile and sunshine during a difficult time in her life. She was preceded in death by her parents, seven siblings and one son. Viewing will be Thursday, December 18, 2014, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at Mueller's Tri-Cities Funeral Home, 1401 S. Union St, Kennewick. Graveside services will be held on Friday, December 19th, 2:00 p.m., at Columbia Memorial Gardens, 224 S. 24th, Pasco.
