Lloyd C. Berg of Kennewick passed away quietly in his sleep on Sunday, January 16, 2010 in Boise, Idaho where he was living with his youngest son Dennis and his wife Sue. Lloyd was born in Leetonia, Ohio on February 14, 1918, and married Harriet F. Williams on September 2nd, 1939 in Ashland, Kentucky. During their 62 years of married life, they had three sons David L. and his wife Bonnie of Yakima, W. Robert and his wife Sandy of Seattle, and Dennis W. and his wife Sue of Boise. Lloyd and Harriet lived in Ohio, West Virginia, California, Idaho and finally settled in Kennewick in 1971. Lloyd also has two additional daughters-in-law, Patti Berg of Pasco and Sandy Berg of Shoreline. Not only was he a wonderful husband, father and grandfather, but he also had time for many other interests. They include 60 year Mason at Grand Lodge of Ohio, member of the Columbia Basin Shrine Club, member of the Columbia Basin Shrine Clowns, member of the Kennewick Scottish Rite, member of El Katif Temple in Spokane, PNSCA clowns, ISCA clowns, 50 year member of IBEW and 25 year member of the Tri-City Country Club. Lloyd's love of "clowning" earned him the honor of being on the cover of "Clown Alley", the International Shrine Clown Association magazine in the October/November 1998 issue. Lloyd won numerous awards in the PNSCA. He received his most recent award, 2nd Place in the PNSCA Hobo Clown category, in 2008 at the "young" age of 90. In addition to Lloyd's commitment to the Shrine Clowns, he was dedicated to helping children through the Shrine Hospital in Spokane. He made several trips per month for over 20 years transporting children to and from their doctor's appointments, etc. Lloyd also loved his six grandchildren: Kellee Anne Berg, Jamilyne Fawver, Chris Berg, Alex Berg, Abigail Berg and Rachel Berg, and his great-granddaughter, Trenda Lee Fawver. Lloyd was preceded in death by his wife, Harriet F. Berg, and his two brothers Kenneth Berg and Robert Berg. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Shriners Hospital, 911 W. 5th, Spokane, WA 99204, in memory of Lloyd C. Berg. Viewing will be Thursday, January 21, 2010, 5pm to 8pm, and funeral services will be 10:00am, Friday, January 22, 2010, at Mueller's Tri-Cites Funeral Home, 1401 S. Union Street, Kennewick, Washington. Burial will follow at Desert Lawn Memorial Park.
