LeRoy Victor Marple was born on September 18, 1928 to Laurence and Opal Marple in Lawrence Township, Minnesota on the family farm his grandfather homesteaded. He met and married Alice Mae Garberg in Fergus Falls, Minnesota in 1948. LeRoy passed away November 22, 2013 at Canyon Lakes Restorative & Rehabilitation Center with his family by his side. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Alice (Garberg) and their children Pamela Clark (Jake Clark), Tricia Marple and Laurence Marple (Candice Marple), who all live in the Tri-Cities; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister Lucille Sundet, Fargo, ND; brothers Stanley Marple (Bea), Cold Spring, MN, and Virgil Marple (Theresa), Maple Plains, MN; and brother-in-law Harry Garberg (Colleen), Billings, MT; and numerous nieces and nephews. In 1953 LeRoy, Alice and their two daughters moved to Kennewick where their son was born. LeRoy is a charter member of the First Presbyterian Church of Kennewick. He was a member of Kennewick Eagles; he loved to bowl aiming for the big 300 score; was a season ticket holder for the Americans Hockey team since they first came to the Tri-Cities. But most of all he loved to fish. He worked in the Hanford area and retired from AREVA in 1990 where he was a Quality Engineer. LeRoy was much loved and will be missed. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, November 27, 10:00 a.m., at Desert Lawn Memorial Park. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Kennewick, following the graveside. Memorial contributions may be made to Tri-Cities Cancer Center or the First Presbyterian Church Choir Memorial.
