Lawrence "Nevin" Fehrenbacher passed away quietly in his sleep at Avalon Health Care Facility, in Othello, WA on Wednesday, October 22, 2008. He was born to Lawrence Fehrenbacher and Dorothy Ross Fehrenbacher in Walla Walla, WA on October 17, 1927. He married Marilyn Myers in 1950. They were married 58 years at the time of his death. He received his education in Walla Walla. He then joined the Navy in May of 1945, during WWII. After his discharge he worked for Inland Motor Freight, Fuller Paint and Myers Radio and T.V., until he went into farming with his dad. They farmed in the Walla Walla area for several years, and then moved their farming partnership to Pasco in 1962. They farmed on West Court Street for seven years then moved to Eltopia, where he finished his farming career. He started working for Lamb Weston as a mechanic, and ended his 21 year career with them in 1992 as a mid-management maintenance supervisor. He continued working seasonally for Lamb Weston for 3 years until his health forced him to retire permanently. Nevin and Marilyn enjoyed traveling in their R.V. throughout the western states and Alaska. He enjoyed dancing and listening to music, and took great pride in his yard and garden. He enjoyed hosting family and neighborhood functions, camping, fishing, hunting and spoiling his wife, children and grandchildren. He was a member of the Connell American Legion and Walla Walla Elks. He was preceded in death by his parents, step-mother Helen Boylan, and sons Duane Nevin and Brian Scott Fehrenbacher. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn. Children: Dorthy Dale Peterson, Kennewick, WA; Jim Jan Fehrenbacher, Tok, AK; Mike Misty Fehrenbacher, LaCenter, WA; Beverly Pearl, Fontana, CA; Larry Shannon Fehrenbacher, Waitsburg, WA; daughter-in-law, Kayanne Fehrenbacher, Mesa, WA; sister Barbara Scott, Moses Lake, WA; brother Jim Bea Yake, Seattle, WA; sister Sharon Whitney Philip Shapiro, Portland, OR. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, extended family and friends. Graveside Services will be held at Mountain View Cemetery in Connell at 10:00 a.m., on November 1, 2008 with Military Honors. A Memorial Service will follow at Connell Methodist Church, 104 S. Burke Ave., Connell, WA at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Tri-Cities Neurological Center, National Parkinson Foundation, or a charity of your choice.
