Kirby James Hammond Jr., devoted father, son, brother and friend passed away unexpectedly on January 29th, 2022. Kirby was born in Livermore, California on February 18th, 1970. He obtained his GED and later attended Columbia Basin College to study auto-mechanics. Kirby's life was forever changed in June of 2006 when he welcomed his beautiful daughter, Liberty. His pride and joy and the apple of his eye. Whether camping or snowboarding, Kirby had a love for the outdoors. His favorite pastime was to watch cooking shows and put his culinary skills to work. But most of all, Kirby loved to spend time with his daughter and his family. Always at the ready with a joke or something witty or funny to say, he will be remembered and missed for his signature sense of humor. Kirby is survived by his daughter, whom he loved and adored, Liberty Dawn Hammond; parents, Kirby James Hammond Sr. and Mercedes Hammond and Gary and Paula Anderson; brother, Andrew (Lori) Hammond, Gastonia, NC; sisters, Echo Hammond, Portland, OR; Lisa (Steve) Landoni, nephews, Easton, Trenton, Tyson and Tate and niece, Graycie, Pasco, WA; Jenna (Tim) Wendler, nieces, Raelyn, Kaitlyn, Layklyn, Amelia and nephews, Brandyn, Miles, Broderick and Forrest, Kennewick, WA; Diana (Steve) Hurd, niece, Aschlie and nephew, Brennon, Clinton, UT; and Janiece (Dave) Stroup, nephews, Taylor and Logan and nieces, Madison and Megan, Pasco, WA. He is also survived by numerous family and friends. Kirby was preceded in death by his niece, Jocelyn, and his maternal and paternal grandparents. The family will receive friends from 4:30 to 7:00 pm, Tuesday, February 8th at Mueller's Tri-Cities Funeral Home, 1401 S. Union Street, Kennewick, WA.
