Obituary

Kathleen Carrie Betty Kitty, 68, passed away Friday, February 23, 2007 in Seattle, Washington. Daughter of William Swalve and Mildred Barra, she was born in Wishek, North Dakota on April15, 1938. Her childhood years were spent in North Dakota, California and Montana. After graduation from high school in Billings, Montana she relocated back to San Francisco and married her childhood sweetheart who she met when she was 5 years old and he was twelve years old. She married Lawrence Eugene Betty on December 22, 1956 and they settled in Southern California. She worked at an Insurance Company and had two daughters in California. In 1965 she moved with her family to Kennewick, Washington where she was a homemaker and had a third daughter, but only staying a brief time in Washington, the family relocated to San Gabriel, California where she trained in computers and worked for Pacific Bell for over 30 years. She and her husband, Larry, spent 49 wonderful years together until his death in August 2005. Kitty wanting a new start moved back to Kennewick in March 2006 and lived in Kennewick until she became ill and was transported to Seattle for an acute medical situation. Kitty is preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, Betty Murphey and her two brothers, William and James Swalve. She is survived by her sister, Dani and husband Dennis Gilchrist of Kennewick; three daughters, Stephanie Metz of Long Beach, California, Michele Lomeli of Kennewick, Washington and Sandra Borja of El Monte, California; grandchildren, Amanda, Jesse, Christina, Teresa, Lawrence, Jonathan; great grandchild, Celeste; various nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. A small memorial service will be held on Wednesday, February 28, 2007 at 2:00p.m. at Tranquility Manor, 2621 W. Entiat Avenue in Kennewick. After the service friends and family are welcome to stay for refreshments.
