Beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather, passed to his beloved home to be with his Lord and Savior on April 25, 2006. He was born in San Benito, Texas on October 5, 1919. Jose came from a large family of 12 children born to Jose and Juanita DeLeon. Jose grew up at his dads farm where he realized that would be his future job. He learned to raise animals and enjoyed riding his horse to school. He later discontinued school to help run his dads farm. He decided as he got older to join the U.S. Army and served as a Military Police for 4 years all through World War II. In 1950 he met and married his wife Concepcion and they just celebrated their 56th Anniversary last month. They moved to Walla Walla, Washington in 1950, where they stayed and raised their 4 children. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed working on many farms in the Walla Walla area. Dad loved yard work and was always proud of his yard which he looked forward to keeping it maintained. He then retired and returned to his hometown in Pharr, Texas to be close to his brothers and sisters in 1983 and became an active member of the Pharr, Texas VFW. He truly enjoyed visiting with all of his friends and neighbors. Dad always enjoyed a conversation with anyone he met. Then he came back to the Tri-Cities area to be with his children where he lived with his oldest son Ramon DeLeon until his death. We would like to thank everyone at the Richland Veterans Clinic especially P. A. Allen for his dedication and concern to Dad while in his care. He went beyond his call of duty to make dad feel better. Also, everyone at Hospice for their dedication, compassion and comfort they gave our Dad as he prepared to be with the Lord. Dad was a wonderful giving man, who truly enjoyed being with people. He is survived by his wife Concepcion; sons, Ramon DeLeon and friend Tracie; Jose DeLeon III and wife Terri; daughter, Janie Salazar and husband Joe; Olga and husband Elias Perez; 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and 6 brothers and 4 sisters. Recitation of the Rosary is scheduled for Friday, April 28, 2006 at 7:00p.m. at Mueller?s Tri-Cities Funeral Home, 1401 S. Union in Kennewick. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, April 29, 2006 at 2:00p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 520 S. Garfield in Kennewick with graveside service to follow at Desert Lawn Memorial Park in Kennewick. Mueller?s Tri-Cities Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
