Obituary

On February 4, 2015, Jon Tracy Bettendorf, left this world to be with our Heavenly father. Tracy was born on June 30th, 1958, he was a lifetime resident of Kennewick, WA. He graduated from Kennewick High School in 1976 and went on to CBC where he participated in the welding program. Tracy was a very talented welder and would work all over the country. At one point in time he carried up to four different books: Ironworkers, boiler makers, and operating engineers, then finally getting in to the pipe and steam fitters Local 598. He loved his career as a pipe fitter. It gave him many opportunities to travel to San Luis Obispo, California, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Oswego, New York, and North Slope, Prudhoe Bay, Alaska where his father had also worked. All before finally settling at home with his family, ending his career at Hanford. Tracy was a loving husband, father, brother, and son. Tracy was preceded in death by his parents Roe Bettendorf and Dawn Bettendorf. He is survived by his wife Sharon Bettendorf; his two children Hailey Bettendorf and Jeremy Kennedy; brother Tim Bettendorf and wife Judy; sister Terri Edwards and husband Tony; brother Cole Bettendorf and wife Dollie; and numerous nieces and nephews. Tracy was very proud of his two children and took pride in his family. Tracy will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held Thursday, February 12th, 2015, 6:00 p.m., and the Memorial Mass Friday, February 13th, 1:00 p.m., at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 520 S. Garfield St., Kennewick.
