Obituary

John W. Klins, age 97, residing at Avalon Health & Rehabilitation Center in Pasco, WA passed away on December 6, 2015. He was born on December 17, 1917 in Harborcreek PA, son of Charles and Edith Kuhn Klins. John graduated from Harbor Creek High School and served in the US Army during WWII. He fought and was injured during the Battle of the Bulge and received the Purple Heart Medal. After the war he moved to Richland, WA and later to Kennewick, WA. Until his retirement, he was employed by Hanford Nuclear Facility. John was preceded in death by his wife, Gerdie, three sisters, Adelaide Eckman, Mildred Ebner, and Alvena McKay, and two brothers, Robert and Louis Klins. He is survived by many nieces and nephews. Honoring his request, there will be no viewing. Graveside services will be held Friday, December 11th, 2015, 11:00 a.m., at Desert Lawn Memorial Park, 10th and Union Street, Kennewick.
