Our beloved father, John Michael Parke, "Mike", age 74, died at home in Kennewick on Wednesday, July 4, 2018. Mike was born in Twin Falls, Idaho on August 21, 1943 to Juanita and John C. Parke. Mike was the oldest of three children. He grew up on the family ranch in King Hill, Idaho where he had many adventures with his family and friends. Mike enjoyed camping in the canyon with his life-long friend Bob. Mike graduated from Glenn's Ferry High School in 1961. While attending University of Idaho studying chemical engineering, Mike met the most beautiful woman he'd ever seen. He and Lynne Tusberg Sherret married in 1965. After graduating, the family moved to Kennewick, Washington in 1967. Mike worked at the N Reactor at Hanford and began his career in the nuclear industry. Mike traveled all over the world and helped develop two patents, he retired from Westinghouse in 2012. Mike and Lynne had many endeavors together including running a restaurant and buying real estate. Mike was always up for an adventure, he took his kids bowling, camping, rock-hounding, and particularly loved riding the scariest rides that none of the kids wanted to ride. By nature, Mike was curious, he studied the universe and would have loved to have traveled in space. Mike had a kind and generous spirit and will be incredibly missed by all who loved him. Mike is survived by his children Michael Shawn Parke and John Kristoffer Parke (Teri), his daughter Julia Eileen Minor (Jesse), grandchildren Julia Eleazer, Michael Jason Parke, Travis Minor, Ashley Hutchinson (James), David Bauer (Cristal), Derek Minor, John Steven Parke, Cassidy Minor, Jonah Parke and Samuel Parke. He is also survived by his brother Stephen Parke (Sherry) and his sister Victoria Smith (Dale) and ten great-grand children. Mike is predeceased by his beloved wife Lynne Parke, daughter Kari Bauer (David), granddaughter Kristina Parke, mother Juanita Parke and father Johnny Parke. A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 21st at 1 PM at Mueller's Tri-Cities Funeral Home, 1401 S. Union Street, Kennewick, Washington. Jim Sinclair of Pasco Christian Church will officiate with a reception to follow. May the winds of heaven blow softly and whisper in your ear how much we love and miss you and wish that you were here.
