John B. Childers of Richland, Washington, was surrounded by his loving family as he passed away on September 14, 2021 at the age of 81. Born in Little Rock, Arkansas on June 19, 1940, to John B. and Eva Childers. Jack moved to the Tri-Cities in 1967 and made his way from sales rep to stockbroker at Shearson Lehman. To friends and family alike, he was known as Jack. His favorite sport was golf - he played at many top-rated courses around the world and so enjoyed his many friends on their adventurous fishing expeditions. Never missing a game (either in person or on TV), Jack was an enthusiastic Seahawk fan. Jack attended Little Rock High School. When he was a senior in 1957, the Little Rock Nine began their integration with the support of the U.S. Army's 101st Airborne Division. Jack was in full support and was proud to be a part of this history. He is survived by his wife, Linda; ex-wife, Sandy; daughters, Darcie and Loraine; half-siblings, Phil, Gayland, and Sonja; 5 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and 5 step-children. Jack was preceded by his parents and his son, John. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Tri-City Union Gospel Mission, Pasco, and Tri-Cities Animal Shelter and Control Center, Pasco. Mueller's Tri-Cities Funeral Home is thanked for their services. A gathering of friends will be Saturday, September 25, from 1 to 5 p.m. at his home, 1746 Del Cambre Loop, Richland. Jack was a friend to many, he had a very kind soul, and he will be missed, but not forgotten.
