Joan Elizabeth Baker was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on May 11, 2009, surrounded by her family at Kennewick General Hospital. She was born on July 8, 1943 in Kansas City, KS and has lived in Kennewick for the past 25 years. She was a loving wife, dedicated mother and grandmother. She selfishly served her family and did for others even when times were difficult with her illnesses. Her family and friends were always first and she will be greatly missed by all the people that she knew. She not only served her family, but also in her Church for many years in the youth programs as a Sunday School Teacher and Awana leader and was a faithful servant. God blessed us with the time that she was with us and we are thankful. Joan leaves behind her loving husband of 42 years David Baker, Daughter and Son-in-law James and Carol Vance and son David Baker; four grandchildren David, Kaitlynn, Whitney, and Micah Baker. She was preceded in death by her parents Jack and Monta Horner and sister Margretta Kusler. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 16, 2009 at Grace Baptist Church located at 4403 W 10th Ave, Kennewick. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Grace Baptist Church Mission Trip Fund.
