Jesse Rodgers passed away peacefully on April 9, 2018 at the age of 77. Jesse was born to Chuck and Ruby Rodgers in Coram, Montana on July 18, 1940, the fifth of eight children. In 1952, his family moved to Washington State where Jesse attended schools from the 6th grade until he graduated from Othello High School. While in high school, he enjoyed playing football and running around with friends. After graduating, he became a union member in 1959, following his father and older brothers into the Operating Engineers Union as a heavy-duty equipment operator. Jesse retired in 2001. Jesse married Beverly King in 1960 and they had two sons, Douglas and Kevin. Jesse enjoyed camping and hunting with family and friends. His other hobbies were motorcycles, horses, watching football on TV, especially the Raiders, and working out 3 or 4 times each week. But his most enjoyable time was watching his sons play sports and his grandchildren, Jessica and Josh, playing sports, and Justin playing the saxophone. Jesse was preceded in death by his father, mother, older brothers, Ray, Darrell, and Ben, and younger sister, Patty. He is survived by his wife, Beverly, sons, Doug of Pasco, Kevin of Tumwater, and three grandchildren. Also surviving is his sister, Peggy (Dave) Williams and brothers Gene (Charlene) and Delbert (Karen), as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial graveside service will be held at the Riverview Heights Cemetery at 1200 S. Olympia St. in Kennewick, Washington on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. A reception will follow at Edison Terrace West, 520 N. Edison St. in Kennewick.
