Jared Lindsay Peterson of Pasco and Kennewick, Washington passed away, Sunday, June 24th after receiving a new, healthy heart during transplant surgery at University of Washington Medical Center. Jared was 33 years old. He had learned to live with less due to a congenital heart condition from birth. Jared was born in Richland, Washington and graduated from Kennewick High School. He continued his education at Columbia Basin College and Washington State University majoring in psychology and anthropology. Jared loved nature and travel, where he enjoyed rock climbing, bicycling and camping throughout the United States, as well as Australia and New Zealand. His hobbies were extensive including: music collections, reading, computers, and painting. Jared is preceded in death by his father, John Kenneth Peterson. He is survived by his mother, Madge Lindsay Peterson and five siblings as follows: Jason Peterson (wife Megan, children- Joshua, Jane), of Albany, New York, Jamie Mead (husband Chad, children- Owen, Luke, Lily, Jack), of Mesa, Arizona, Jay Peterson of Provo, Utah, Joshua Peterson (wife Siera, children- Summer, Kale, Taylor), of Baltimore, Maryland, and Justin Peterson (wife Alyssa, child- Brooklyn), of Salt Lake City, Utah. A funeral will be held at the Buntin LDS Chapel, 820 Buntin Street in Kennewick on July 7th at 1:00 p.m. The viewing will precede from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Jared will be interned in the Liberty Cemetery in Liberty, Utah, on July 14th at 1:00 p.m.
