Janice L. Baker was born September 7, 1960, in Spokane, Washington and passed away on February 21, 2014, in Kennewick, Washington from cancer. She lived in Kennewick for 45 years. She was preceded in death by her father, Ronald L. Rhynard; grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Oliver Rhynard of Prosser, and Mr. & Mrs. Dan Valerine of Kennewick. She is survived by her husband of 26 years, Shawn Baker; son David Baker; daughter, Lisa Baker; mother, Bette Porath; step-father, Bill Porath; brothers, Martin Rhynard and daughter Adela; Mitchell Ryhnard and son Ash; step-brothers, Paul Porath and Glenn Walter; and step-sister, Holly Sanders. Janice graduated from Kennewick High School and Central University with a business degree. She was a supervisor in the banking industry and was presently working as a para-educator at Kamiakin High School. Janice loved horses and often rode her palomino. Memorial services will be Saturday, March 1, 2014 at 12 noon at Mueller's Tri-Cities Funeral Home, 1401 S. Union in Kennewick, Washington.
