Jana Norene Peterson June 6, 1950 – November 20, 2018 Jana was born in Pasco, Washington the daughter of Pete and Dorothy Peterson and sister of older brother Jan. When she was 5 the family moved into the house they had built on the Columbia River on Rd. 47 where she grew up. There they had enough pasture to keep the horses and Jana's lifelong passion began. She was a graduate of Pasco High School and Washington State University. Her career ladder started on the lowest rung as a temporary substitute bus driver and rose to the top when she retired as the superintendent of transportation of Pasco School District. Her first love was always horses culminating breeding, training, and showing Arabians. It was a pursuit of this passion that led her to meeting her life Partner Dr. Ted Wenham, D.C. They shared the love of horses and were very active together as partners in the Columbia Stallion Station where they boarded, bred, trained, and competed in the showing champion Arabians. They were active members of the Arabian Horse Association Region 5 and the Arabian Horse Club of Southeast Washington. They also shared a love of good food and wine and Jana was an excellent cook. Jana had been a compassionate caregiver first for her maternal grandmother Lola and then of her own mother Dorothy. Jana suffered multiple serious health issues for years prior to her death including renal failure that required dialysis three days a week and was grateful for the many doctors and healthcare providers that helped her survive so long. Despite her physical suffering she had a great sense of humor and cheerful greetings for friends and family. She is survived by her partner Dr. Ted Wenham, D.C of Pasco, brother Jan Eric Peterson of Seattle, nephew Nels Peterson OF Seattle, niece Anne Peterson of San Francisco. Memorial survives will be held on December 15, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. at Mueller's Funeral Home on 1401 S. Union in Kennewick, WA.
