James Clarence Flory

James "Jim" Clarence Flory passed away on May 5, 2022, at the age of 94. Born on August 15, 1927, near Grandview, Wash., he was a long-time resident of Kennewick. A letterman and graduate of Prosser High School, he was a student at Eastern Washington University and a veteran of WWII. Jim spent much of his life in the Yakima Valley and Columbia Basin, working harmoniously with various farms, orchards, and gardens alongside fellow stewards of these fertile lands. He was proceeded in death by his daughter Sherrie Lynn Martin (née Flory), brother Grant Flory, and nephew Mike Flory; and is survived by Beulah Flory (née Steinbock), James D. Flory, Colleen Hackett, Mary Scrivner (née Flory), and grandsons Spencer Martin, Dylan Scrivner, and Tanner Scrivner. His memory is blessed and accompanied by the unique and profound generosities of the Thompson and Wittkopf families, who have been lifelong friends unwavering in their immeasurable care and support. Jim was the embodiment of patient perseverance and a constant source of support, encouragement, and love to those around him. A quiet example of humanity, he instructed those in his midst to live and love without bounds.
