Obituary

Jack was born on August 25, 1927. He was the son of Esker and Emma Stanley. On October 12, 1947 he married the love of his life, Helen L. Platt. At the time of his death, he and Helen had been married for 67 years. Together, they raised four children. Jack served in the Army-Air Corp. After the service, he owned and operated the Walkerville Garage in Shelbyville, Indiana. Jack loved to paint pictures, hunt and fish. While his children were young, Jack and his family moved to the Oregon coast and settled in North Bend. He worked there for many years as a diesel mechanic. At that time in his life, he learned to play golf and enjoyed that very much. Jack loved family get-togethers and seeing all his children/grand & great-grandchildren. He was a wonderful part of our family. He will be remembered and loved by all. Jack is preceded in death by his mother, father, one brother, and two sisters. He is survived by loving wife, Helen, his sons Richard (Joanne), Gary (Patricia), Jeff (Camile) Stanley and daughter Angela (Jerry) Larson, 17 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. For those who wish to attend, a service will be held Monday, November 10th, 2014, 2:00 p.m., at Desert Lawn Memorial Park, 10th and Union Street, Kennewick.
