Our precious Dad went to his Heavenly home on Good Friday, April 18, 2014. He was born in Dayton, Washington on September 20, 1920 to Harry Moran and Georgia Snider Moran. He lived all of his early years in Dayton and graduated from Dayton High School in 1938. He moved to Kennewick where he met his future wife, Doris Reeves Aman "Dode". Gene served in the Army Air Corp during WWII, and when the war ended he returned to Kennewick and married the love of his life, Dode. God blessed their union with three daughters, Donna, Sherry and Dorene. Gene began his career in computer work with General Electric, then worked for Computer Sciences Corp. and retired from Boeing Computer Services as a Senior Computer Analyst. His skills were recognized when he was awarded the equivalent of a degree in Computer Science. He always gave the Lord the credit for the successes on his jobs. Gene enjoyed playing golf in the mornings and started a part-time job in the afternoons as a courier for U.S. Bank until Dodie suffered an incapacitating illness in October 1992. He lovingly cared for her for two years until she went to her home in Heaven. He was a faithful member of the Kennewick Church of the Nazarene and dearly loved the Lord with all of his heart. Daddy enjoyed family camping trips and many sports including golf, bowling, fishing, basketball, ping pong, rollerskating and swimming. He also bought himself his first motorcycle for his 60th birthday and in his 70's he was still going on carnival rides and down water slides with his children and grandchildren. Another especially favorite family time was playing Rook. Irv was preceded in death by his wife Dode, his parents Harry and Georgia Moran, infant brother Edwin Moran, brothers Edward Moran (Laverne), Arthur Moran (Mary May), sister Edith Osborn (Art) and brothers-in-law Don Aman and Loyd Aman. Gene is survived by his daughters Donna Jean Thompson (Lynn), Sherry Hill (John), and Dorene Carollo (Rod), six grandchildren: Doris, TJ (Misty), Kevin (Terese), Brianne (John), Devin and Derrick, six great-grandchildren: Tyler, Erik, Jacob, Tessa, Andrew and Keiran, sisters-in-law Faye Aman and Dottie Aman, and numerous nieces , nephews, loved ones and dear friends. We especially want to thank the wonderful staff at the Emeritus at Canyon Lakes Manor, Canyon Lakes Restorative and Rehabilitation Center and Iyabo Visiting Care for the loving, tender care they gave to our Dad. There will be a viewing on Friday, April 25 from 5pm to 8pm at Mueller's Tri-Cities Funeral Home, 1401 S Union Street, Kennewick. A graveside service will be on Saturday, April 26 at 2pm at Desert Lawn Memorial Park, adjacent to the funeral home, followed by a Celebration of Life Service, at 3pm, at the Kennewick Church of the Nazarene, 2402 S. Union St.
