Hylma (Lalli) Johnson age 93, of Kennewick, Washington passed away peacefully June 8th 2013. She was preceded in death by 7 of her 8 siblings; her husbands Jay Worth & Tillman Johnson; daughter Murel Worth; son in law Gordon Johnson; step daughter Mary Johnson and 2 step grandchildren. She was born February 12, 1920 in a log cabin, on a homestead in Graceton, Minnesota to John and Anna Lalli. One of 9 children and the daughter of farmers, who were premier pioneers of that area, she learned at a young age about hard work. She was helping her mother cook for the farm crew at age 9. She was self-educated and as an adult became an accomplished artist. Again self-taught. As a professional artist she painted under the name Lalli. She and her husband Tillman owned an Art Studio in Leavenworth, WA and traveled Art shows all over the Northwest for 10 years until she retired. She said this was the happiest time of her life. She would often speak with pride about being an electrician in the ship yards in Portland during the war. She always thought she could fix anything and had a cure for any ailment you might have from a hang nail to a headache, a beauty question to a broken heart. If she couldn't cure it she would give you a shoulder lean on. Her love was for her family, her passion was for her Art. For the last 18 months Miss Lalli resided at "Legacy Manor assisted living home" in Kennewick, Her name was Hylma but she would tell you "They call me Lalli." There are no words great enough to describe the fabulous care she received at Legacy. She loved all "her girls" as she called them and was always giving "the girls" beauty tips and again cures for any ailment. Our family thanks her Legacy family so much for loving her as much as we did and treating her with such kindness, care and dignity. Hylma (Miss Lalli) is survived by her sister Florence Lalli of Minnesota; her nieces Darlene Webber of Walla Walla, Patty Roan of Texas & Rona Lynn Nelson of Yakima; daughter in law Colleen Johnson of Kennewick; step daughter and son in law Sara and Pat Maxwell of Seattle; and numerous grandchildren and greatgrandchildren. Our sweet Mom, aunt, grandma, great-grandma and friend will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. The family would like to invite you to a celebration of her life and her art, at the First United Methodist church in downtown Kennewick at 1:00 p.m. Saturday June 15.
