Obituary

Humberto Javier Torres passed away peacefully, surrounded by family and friends, on June 26, 2023, at Kadlec Regional Medical Hospital in Richland, Washington. He was born February 9, 1946, in Harlingen, Texas to Lauro Torres Herevia and María Guadalupe Garza Carpio.

Humberto completed 2 of the 3 Academic years of High School in Mexico. As an adult he continued to educate himself and enrolled in evening college courses to further his English language abilities.

On November 29, 1969, he married his childhood sweetheart, Angelica Valdez-Ledesma. This fall would have been their 54th wedding anniversary. Humberto was a supportive husband and father. He was a passionate and hardworking individual. His main love was farming, having been introduced to farming by his father. He grew to love learning all he could about managing and harvesting a multitude of crops. His knowledge of livestock was admirable, as well.

In addition to his parents, he was pre-decease by his brother: Leo Torres. Surviving in addition to his wife, Angelica (Valdez) Torres, are his two sons: Francisco Torres, Eduardo Torres and his wife, Michelle. His daughter Nancy Torres along with his four grandchildren; Jamie Torres, Brandon Torres, Sophia Torres, and Daniel Torres. His five siblings; Hermelinda, Saul, Juanita, Alejandro and Araceli; along with many nieces and nephews.

Viewing and Rosary Prayer Service is scheduled for July 5, 2023, at Mueller's Greenlee Funeral Home; 1608 W. Court St, Pasco, WA. Immediate family may arrive at 4p.m. Extended family and friends may arrive at 6p.m. Mass will be held at St. Patrick's Catholic Parish (Pasco) at 10a.m on July 6, 2023. Interment will follow at City View Cemetery; 1300 N. Oregon Ave (Pasco). Reception is TBD.

The Torres family would like to thank everyone who has reached out and offered their condolences to the family, Humberto will be greatly missed!
