Obituary

Helen Dorothy Chase Silliman was born on March 4, 1920 and died June 9, 2010. Helen was born in Ipswich, South Dakota to William T. and Anna Matilda Chase. Her family moved to Rathdrum, Idaho in 1934 where she graduated from Rathdrum High School in 1938. She went on to graduate from Northwestern Business College in Spokane, Washington. During World War II, Helen?s parents moved to Olympia, Washington where they resided until their deaths. Helen worked at Fort Lawton in Seattle during the war. She married Clinton Silliman in 1945 and they moved to Kennewick, Washington in 1948. In 1949 she went to work at the Kennewick School District, and worked there as a Bookkeeper for 25 years, retiring in 1978. Helen was a member the PEO Sisterhood and past president of the Dr. LH Spaulding Orthopedic Guild. Helen was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 38 years Clinton E Silliman; brothers, Robert and Keith; sisters, Ruth and Lucille. She is survived by sons, Richard L Silliman Shellie of Portland, Oregon and Monte L Silliman Phyllis of Vancouver, Washington; six grandchildren, Greg, Amanda, Jyl, Haley, Mathew and Steven; 13 great grandchildren; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Ken and Arleen Silliman of Kennewick, Washington; a number of nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 16, 2010 at 10:00am at Mueller?s Tri-Cities Funeral Home, 1401 S. Union in Kennewick, Washington with Funeral services to begin at 11:00a.m. Internment will follow at Desert Lawn Memorial Park on the corner of 10th Avenue and Union in Kennewick. Memorial donations may be made to The PEO Sisterhood or a charity of choice.
