Helen Maxwell peacefully left this earth surrounded by family to dance eternally in heaven April 12, 2011. She was born June 9, 1931, in Joliet, Illinois, to George and Margaret Mems. She married Gerald Maxwell, her high school sweetheart on February 20, 1954, whose Air Force career led them to Riverside, CA. Having completed her nurses training, Helen spent many years serving as an RN, retiring in 1993. Helen and Gerald moved their family to the Tri-Cities in 1975, where she resided until her passing in West Richland, WA. Helen was preceded in death by her loving husband Gerald, her father, mother and sister Mary Pazely. She is survived by her children, Mary Russert, Thomas Maxwell, Julie Maxwell, Sally Maxwell, her grandchildren Wert Russert and Alyssa Russert and her brother Bob Mems, along with numerous nieces and nephews. A Celebration of her life and love for her savior Jesus Christ will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday April 23 at Pasco Christian Church, 1524 W. Marie, Pasco, WA.
