Helen Alstad, 90, of Richland, WA went home to be with the Lord on Friday, June 8, 2007. Helen lived at Quail Hollow for the past 5 years. Helen was born in Bruce, Wisconsin on September 23, 1916 to John and Nanna Alstad. Helen grew up on the family farm with her three older sisters and one brother. She lived the majority of her life on the family dairy farm until she retired to live in the Tri-Cities to care for her older brother who suffered from Alzheimer?s. Helen enjoyed playing the piano, gardening and tole painting. Helen never married but had many friends at the Lutheran Church in Kennewick where she attended for several years. She is the last surviving member of her family but did not lack for those who loved her. Helen?s gentle manner, warm smile and laughter made her a favorite at Quail Hollow where she will be greatly missed by the care staff. A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, June 16, 2007, 12:00pm, at Desert Lawn Memorial Park, 10th & Union, Kennewick, Washington.
