Obituary

Harold R. (Hal) Jones passed away at Chaplaincy Hospice House in Kennewick, WA, from Parkinson ' s Disease, on June 26, 2022 , leaving his family and friends, to go on ahead . Born June 13, 1943, in Boise, Idaho, Hal lived an adventure, spreading kindness and positivity, providing for his family, and serving his community. He made friends easily, and was of serv i ce to others. Upon graduation from Nampa High School, in 1961 , he worked for the Forest Service, fighting fires in Idaho . He joined the Air Force , and served i n the Air National Guard . Hal came to the Tri­ Cities, "for a little while...in 1967, " where he met and married, Felisa Cerna, i n 1969. They raised son, Michael, and daughter , Michelle and were members of First Lutheran Church. In 1970, Hal became a firefighter for the City of Richland and an EMT. Life changed with a duty incurred accident. He was self-employed or worked in a variety of capacities including: insurance agent, photographer, industrial fire and safety trainer for WPPS, safety officer for PGG , and through his company, Safety and Compliance Services, set up safety programs and taught First Aid and CPR classes. He participated in Parents Without Partner and was a member of the Eagles for 35 years . In 2013, Hal married Elizabeth McFadden. Retiring in 2016, he met more people, attending Kadlec ' s Parkinson's support group and Rock Steady Boxing at The Contender gym .

Hal was preceded in death by his parents , Ray Jones , and Frances Saxton Jones and is survived by his wife, Elizabeth McFadden, daughter Michelle Jones (Greg Noble), son Michael (Mona), sister Rose Ward, brother Don Jones, grandchildren: Raven Cerna , Nathan Allgaier, Jewel

Allgaier, and Sam Jones. He will also be missed by Aunt Marilyn Jones, numerous cousins,

nieces and nephews and lifelong friends, Mike and Art Rowe. A Memorial Celebration will be held

on Thursday July 14, 2022 at 3:30 pm at Kennewick First Lutheran Church 418 N Yelm St Kennewick . Reception in the Fellowship Hall to follow . In lieu of flowers, please do an act of kindness, in word or deed , in his memory .
