Obituary

Harold Paul Hardesty passed away on January 14, 2007, at the age of 86. He was born in Gordon, Nebraska November 1, 1920, to Jasper and Gladys Hardesty. He was the oldest of four children. He met and married Hazel Dean Hoffman December 12, 1941. They had two children, Paula Dean and Judith Earlene. He worked most of his life for the Federal Government, first with the Bureau of Reclamation and finishing his career with the US Fish and Wildlife Service. The last years of his life he lived at Charbonneau Retirement Center enjoying the friendships of many fellow residents. He is survived by his daughters Paula Caldwell and Judy Gelhaus, brother Rex Shirley, granddaughter Kim Smith Jim, grandsons Wes Caldwell Vicki, Matt Gelhaus Taia, Ben Gelhaus, Dan Gelhaus Jessica, and great grandchildren Kennedy Caldwell, Coleman Caldwell, Cassidy Gelhaus and Ronan Gelhaus. He was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel; his parents; sisters, Betty Edington and Dolly Smith. Memorials can be made to the Tri-Cities Cancer Center. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, January 20, 2007 at Mueller's Tri-Cities Funeral Home, 1401 S. Union in Kennewick. A reception will follow at 3:00 PM at Charbonneau Retirement Facility, 8264 W. Grandridge Blvd, Kennewick, Wa.
