Gloria Harper, a life-time resident of Connell, passed away on June 7, 2011 of Parkinson's disease and colon cancer. She was born in Pasco on 3/9/29 and is 82. Gloria is the daughter of Joe F. Havlina Sr. and Neva Edwards Havlina. Her siblings are Juanita Lyle and Joseph Havlina Jr. She graduated from Connell High in 1947 and obtained degrees from WSU in Home Economics and Education. Gloria married Norval Harper of Connell. She was a substitute teacher and was involved with Girl Scouts. Gloria loved her father and the wheat farm. She collected antiques and donated many to the Connell Museum. Gloria enjoyed family gatherings, sewing, and gardening. She was very interested in the history of Connell and her family heritage. Gloria is survived by son Wayne Harper wife Debi & children-Jason, Jill, Jessica, daughter Janette Klaus husband Milton & children Caroline, Amanda, and Rachel, great grandchildren, and ex-husband Norval Harper. There will be a family viewing on Monday June 13, 2011 from 3 to 8 p.m. at Mueller's Greenlee Funeral Home 1608 W. Court St, Pasco. The graveside service is at the Connell cemetery on Tuesday June 14th, at 11 a.m., followed by a memorial service at the Connell Methodist church at 12. A lunch will follow at the church.
