Gilbert E. Ortiz was born February 10, 1927 to Esteban Mata Ortiz and Dolores Escalante of San Manuel Texas. He married Maria Villanueva Ortiz on October 20, 1964, and entered into our heavenly father's kingdom on October 5, 2009. He is preceded in death by daughter Theresa Ortiz, father Esteban Ortiz, mother Dolores Escalante Ortiz, brother Jose Ortiz, Estella Ortiz, and Domingo Ortiz. Survivors include wife Maria V. Ortiz of Kennewick, daughter Marie Ann Ortiz of Kennewick, grandson Gilbert A. Garcia of Kennewick, brothers Esteban Ortiz Jr., Ernesto Ortiz, Martin Ortiz, Emilio Ortiz, Pablo Ortiz, sister Julia Loera, brothers in-law, sisters-in-law, and numerous nieces and nephews. He worked for and retired from Burlington Railroad and also worked for Mac's Nursery in Pasco. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend. We will forever miss you and keep you in our prayers. We wait for the day when we will all be reunited. Viewing will be held Thursday, October 8, 2009, 5:00pm to 8pm, at Mueller's Tri-Cities Funeral Home, 1401 S. Union St, Kennewick, with Rosary at 5:00pm. Funeral services will be Friday, October 9th, 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 520 Garfield Street, Kennewick. Father Godino will be officiating.
