Obituary

George Earl Benson passed away peacefully on April 7, 2015 at Pasco, Washington. He was 76 years old. George was born on August 1, 1938 to Kenneth Dovell Benson and Eva Elvira Petersen at Budge Hospital in Logan, Utah. George was the youngest of three children. George attended elementary school in Newton, Utah and later graduated from North Cache High School in Richmond in 1956. He went on and received his Bachelor and Master's Degree at Utah State University in Logan, Utah. George loved learning, fishing, friends, and family. He also had an incredible memory and had knowledge of many things. George spent many years at Continental Can Company in human resources at Chicago, Denver, and Florida. He worked for a number of years for a Human Resource Recruiter in Salt Lake City before accepting a position with Thiokol in Logan, Utah. Thiokol was later renamed Logan Manufacturing Company. George was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was a High Priest and deeply involved in Family History Research. George is preceded in death by his father and mother and his brother Robert Clyde Benson. George is survived by his brother, Kenneth Malcolm Benson. A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 18th, at Mueller's Greenlee Funeral Home in Pasco, WA at 2:00 p.m. George will be laid to rest at the Newton Cemetery in Newton, Utah.
