On January 9th, heaven received another angel with open arms. Gail Darleen Schultz went to join her loving husband Alfred (Al) Schultz and children Shannon and Kerry. Gail was born in McCall, ID to Lloyd and Betty Schmaljohn on February 7, 1941, and was the eldest of their six children. Gail and her family transitioned around the northwest until establishing their roots in Pasco, WA.

Gail and her siblings lost their father at a young age, and she took on many responsibilities with her siblings to help her mother. She was truly the matriarch of the family, and everyone knew they could always count on her for advice, support, and a little encouragement when they needed it. Her family nicknamed her "Sister". Shortly after graduating from Pasco High School, she married her high school sweetheart Al and together had four children: Shannon, Kerry, Todd and Shauna.

Gail worked as a waitress in a few different restaurants in Pasco and drove busses for the Pasco School District for a short time until fully dedicating her time and attention to her beloved family. To Gail being a mom was the best gift she could have received in life and being a grandmother was a bonus for her.

Gail enjoyed family time, gambling, cooking & baking, her smokes, and "The Price is Right". If you tried calling or visiting from 10 to 11 am Monday through Friday…. Beeeep, please leave a message, because she was not answering. She had a great sense of humor and always had a smile on her face.

The past few years were filled with short stints in the hospital, but her last visit to the ER on the 27th of December was not like the others. After her release on the 30th, her family gave her the best comfort measures possible and was surrounded by her children, grandchildren, extended family members and friends when she passed.

Gail is survived by her son Todd (Fay) Schultz; daughter Shauna (Daniel) Rodriguez; grandchildren Ryan (Josie) Schultz, Taran Schultz, Anthony Garcia, Nathaniel, Daniel, and Andrew Rodriguez, Ryan Reynvaan, Amara (Zane) Sundberg, their children Ryder and Fynn Sundberg; brother Keith (Skeet) Schmaljohn, sisters Dale (Roger) Davidson, Martha (David) Lauber, and countless nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family and friends.

Gail is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years Al Schultz; daughter Shannon and son Kerry; parents Lloyd and Betty; brothers Perry, George Schmaljohn and sister Sharalyn (Shui) McAllister.

Her contagious smile and witty personality will be forever missed. Her passing leaves an emptiness in our hearts that will last forever. She will always be remembered as a great wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and cousin.

The family invites you to a graveside memorial on Friday, January 20th at 12:00 pm at Desert Lawn Memorial Park on 10th and Union St, Kennewick followed by a reception at the Pasco Eagles Hall on 28th and Sylvester St in Pasco until 4 pm.
