A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 17th, at 11:00am, at Mueller?s Tri-Cities Funeral Home, 1401 South Union Street in Kennewick for Fern Bailie who died on November 6th at the age of 89. Fern was born in Yakima on June 9, 1918, and moved to Pasco in 1932. She graduated from Pasco High School in 1937. After high school she attended beauty school and became a beauty operator in Pasco. During that time she met Chet Bailie and they were married September 15, 1940. They had three children Jim, Barbara, and Marcia. She was a stay at home mom for a number of years and then returned to work at Beaux Arts Beauty Salon. Fern later joined her husband Chet in running the Library Tavern in Pasco. In their retirement they spent many wonderful years traveling and enjoying their family and their beloved cabin in Oregon. Fern loved fly fishing, reading, entertaining, travel, and most of all, being with friends. She was a caregiver and confidant to friends and always supported her children and grandchildren. She was funny and loving and wise. Good jokes and funny cards were not wasted on her. The twinkle in her eye and her dimpled smile will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She is preceded in death by her husband Chet Bailie and parents Lee and Geraldine Craig. Fern is survived by her children Jim and Patty Bailie of Pasco, Barbara and Ken Kniveton of Eltopia, Marcia and Dick Plows of San Juan Islands; grandchildren Dana Munn, Kelli Bruckert, Leslie Funkhouser, Jeff Kniveton, Brooke Godwin, Jaime Flanigan and nine great-grandchildren.
