Frieda (Haffner) Buxbaum Case, our loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother passed away peacefully at the age of 99 on Wednesday, January 14, 2015. Frieda was born the fifth of six children to German-Russian immigrants, Henry and Eva Haffner, on July 10, 1915 in Worden Montana. Frieda married Alexander Buxbaum on May 13, 1934 in Sidney, Montana where her family farmed. Alex and Frieda continued to farm in Sidney, Ennis and Miles City, Montana and a short time in Wigggins, Colorado. Frieda enjoyed farming alongside Alex. In 1961 the Bauxbaum's moved to Kenneiwck, Washington where they operated a maintenance and cleaning service to the Richland Clinic. Alex passed away on May 10, 1976. On August 16, 1980 Frieda married Medford Case in Kennewick, Washington. When Medford passed away on March 10, 2010, Frieda continued to reside in Kennewick making it her home for the remainder of her life. Frieda is survived by the five daughters and one son that she and Alex raised; Mary Ann (Ken) Crabill of Lockart, Texas; Jane Cranford, Pasco, Washington; Elsie (Bill) Schye of Billings, Montana; Diane DeLange of Kennewick, Washington; Kathy (Ron) Johnson of Pasco, Washington and Alex (Laura) Buxbaum of Pasco, Washington. Frieda is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by two sons-in-law Don Cranford and Jack DeLange, her parents, her four sisters; Molly Miller, Lydia Gable, Emma Rein, Leah Haas and one brother, George Haffner. The family would like to thank Desert Haven Adult Family Home and Hospice for the compasionate care they provided to Frieda. At this time, there are no services planned.
