Floyd Lester "Les" Carpenter, 81 of Kennewick, WA, passed away Sunday, September 20, 2009 at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, Washington. He was born, August 25, 1928 in Huntington Park, Ca. Les attended Brown Military Academy in San Diego Ca. in 1946, and graduated from Huntington Park High School in 1947. Les met and married Faye Fennessy in Bell Gardens, CA. in 1949. He worked for three city newspapers as a district manager, in Downey, Norwalk and Escondido, Ca. He later owned and operated a Golf cart, Sales and Service. He and Faye moved to Kennewick in 2005. Les and Faye are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and are members of the Zintel Canyon Ward. Les enjoyed fishing, hunting, golf and participated in billiard tournaments, in Escondido. Faye and Les enjoyed traveling and took many vacations together He is survived by his wife, Faye Carpenter; daughter, Susan and Cannon Hill of Kennewick, Wa.; son, Jim and Margie Carpenter of Laguna Niguel, CA.; 7 Grandchildren and 11 Great Grandchildren. Services will be held on Thursday, September 24, 2009 at 1:00 PM at the LDS Buntin Building in Kennewick, Washington.
