Obituary

Eva "Gerri" Jackson died suddenly, December 18, 2008, at Lourdes Medical Center in Pasco, Washington. Gerri was born in Red Deer, Alberta Canada to "Jerry" and Eva Sills. She moved to Spokane, Washington as a small child and attended Field Grade School and Lewis and Clark High School. She was a waitress in Spokane at the Rid Path and Davenport Hotels, before moving to the Tri-Cities with her family in 1962. After moving to the Tri-Cities she worked at the Hanford House, the Tri City Country Club, and at Cedars for twenty years, retiring at age 62. After retirement she enjoyed gardening, her family, and especially her great-grandchildren and her great-great granddaughter. She was grandma to many of the children in the neighborhood. She never knew a stranger, and was a friend to everyone. No task was ever too big. She enjoyed cooking large meals for family and friends as well as having a large breakfast every summer for the Old Car Club members. Gerri was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Kennewick, also a member of the Auxillary at Lourdes Medical Center for several years. Gerri is survived by her husband John, daughters Cheryl Squires Spokane, Vickie Foltz and husband John Kennewick, stepdaughter Linda Newby and husband Tim Benton City, brothers: James Sills, Robert Sills, and Tom Sills all of Spokane, one sister Wilma Seattle, many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great granddaughter. She loved and cared deeply for all of them. She is preceded in death by her parents "Jerry" and Eva, two sons; Steven and Greg Reece. Mom, your daughters love you very much; you will leave a large hole in our hearts and in the hearts of all those who knew you. Viewing will be Friday, December 26th from 5pm-8pm at Muellers Tri-Cities Funeral Home located at 1401 S. Union Street in Kennewick. Memorial Service will be Saturday, December 27th at 11am at the First Presbyterian Church located at 2001 W. Kennewick Avenue, Kennewick. The family would like to thank all the staff at Lourdes Medical Center for the special care of our loved one. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Corks Place, 712 W. 19th Ave., Kennewick 99337.
