A memorial service for Ethel A. Vosmer will be at Mueller's Funeral Home 1401 South Union St., Kennewick, WA on Friday, December 19 at 11a.m. Born on August 24, 1908, in Yampa, Colorado, Mrs. Vosmer lived 100 years, the last few near her children in Renton, Washington where she passed on December 9, 2008. Mrs. Vosmer was a longtime resident of Richland. She came to the area in 1943 to work on the Hanford Project as a registered nurse. She was one of the original staff members of the Kadlec Hospital. Prior to that, she was the supervisor of nurses at the Denver General Hospital. In 1945 she married Alfred L. Vosmer in Richland. Her husband died in 1992. Mrs. Vosmer is survived by her daughter, Jane Shumate and Jane's husband, Jim and her son, Kent Vosmer and his wife, Carole. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Cory Evans and James Shumate. She was a member of the West Side Church in Richland.
