Obituary

Our beloved mother and grandmother, Jane Cook, passed into the loving arms of her Savior, Jesus, October 31, 2014 with her children by her side. Born in Riddle, Oregon in 1924, she was the fourth of eight children born to Paul and Caroline Hausotter. Jane is now rejoicing in Heaven with her husband of fifty-seven years, who passed away in 2004 and her youngest child, Bruce, who passed to Heaven in 2007. Also rejoicing with her are her beloved brothers, Richard and Charles; and sisters: Elizabeth, Marie and Ellen. Jane is survived by her children, David (Beatty), Candace (Robert) Olson, grandchildren Eric Olson and Tiffany Zarate, her brother David Hausotter and sister Joanne Pearson, three beautiful great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and many friends. Jane was a woman ahead of her times. After graduating from High School in 1942 she enlisted in the Army Air Force working on B-17 airplanes. In 2007 she was honored to be the Grand Marshal of the Veteran's Day parade in Roseburg, Oregon. In 1944 Jane went on to Chiropractic College in Portland, Oregon. She married Walter C. Cook in 1947 and had three children, David, Candace and Bruce. Throughout her marriage she worked alongside her husband in business. They resided in Oregon with the exception of two years in Somoa. Jane loved to entertain and made everyone feel welcome in her home. She loved gardening, being with family and friends, teaching Sunday School and playing cards with friends. She was greatly loved and will be missed by all who knew her but will be forever in our hearts. She leaves us with wonderful memories of her. She was the "glue" that held everything together and the "oil" that kept it going. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date in Roseburg, Oregon.
