Edwin Thornton, age 69, passed away March 9, 2016 at his home in Pasco. Ed was born to Mary and James Thornton on December 20, 1946 in Tucson, Arizona. The Thornton family relocated to Connell in 1960 to farm the basin. Ed graduated from Connell High School and continued to farm until he married Lynda Williamson in August of 1974. Ed and Lynda welcomed their only child and Ed's pride and joy, Tawnie Marie, in June of 1975. Ed enjoyed employment with Anderson Farms and International Harvester before going to work for the Washington State Department of Corrections in 1977. Ed worked as a Corrections Officer and Work Crew Supervisor at the Tri-City Work Release until his retirement in 2012, concluding 34 years of service. Ed was a devoted member of the Pasco Moose Lodge for 40 years. His parents, Mary and Jim Thornton, precede Ed in death while he is survived by his wife Lynda Thornton, his daughter Tawnie (Vincent) Stevens, his grandchildren Danielle (Billy) and Sean Stevens, his great grandson Emmett Birge, his brother James (Michele) Thornton, his nieces Kristen and Jessica, and his nephew Colton. A celebration of life will be held at 12:00 pm on March 19, 2016 at the Pasco Moose Lodge; 2617 W. Sylvester Street.
