Dorothy Farrell Gradin, 77, of Burbank, Washington, died on December 25, 2015 in Spokane, Washington. Dorothy was born in Sequim Washington on May 5, 1938. She was born to Monte and Edith Schaeffer, both of whom predeceased her. She was one of 5 children, being survived by her brother Gary and her sister Monty. She married Gary A. Gradin in 1956, and survived him after 58 years of marriage when Gary died in September 2014. Dorothy was an avid reader, antique collector and follower of politics. Above all else, she cherished moments with family and made a point to attend sports games, recitals and family events that her children and grandchildren were involved in. Dorothy's strong belief in Jesus encouraged her to spread her faith with nearly everyone she interacted with and her ability to love and have compassion for anyone she interacted with set Dorothy apart. Dorothy raised six boys with her husband: Gary, Jr. who predeceased her; Keith Gradin (and wife, Shelly) of Spokane, Curt Gradin (and wife Tracy) of Spokane; Daniel Gradin of Burbank; Kenneth Gradin (and wife, Alicia) of Burbank and Doug Gradin (and wife, Michelle) of Burbank. Dorothy was the proud grandmother of 21 grandchildren: Heather, Garret, Jeremy, Jakson, Alexa, Katie, Emily, Daniel, Jr., Jamie, Corrine, Colin, Desiree, Corina, Branden, Joshua, Kendra, Nicole, Craig, Sean, Tyler and Nathan. She is survived by 8 great-grandchildren: Kolton, Jadyn, Gwen, Brady, Ava, Emersyn, Nora, and Josiah. A service to celebrate Dorothy's life will be held on January 2, 2016, at 1:00 p.m., Riverview Baptist Church, 4921 W. Wernett Street, Pasco, WA 99301. All those who knew Dorothy or the Gradin family are encouraged to attend.
