Doris Hood passed away December 9, 2011. She was born April 5, 1929 in Hardinsburg, Kentucky. On May 14, 1976 Doris married Melvyn Hood at Messiah Lutheran Church in Basin City, where she was a member. Doris managed the office of their crop dusting business, Tri City Helicopter with her husband Melvyn in Basin City for 30 years until retirement. Doris enjoyed traveling, being outdoors and enjoyed nature. Doris is survived by her husband Melvyn Hood, of Basin City, WA; her children, Debora William Mickels of Pasco, WA, Susan Parker of Mattawa, WA, and Kim Becky Hood of Seattle, WA; grandchildren, Lori Duncan, Bill Mickels, Wesley Parker, Breanne Parker, Skylar Parker, Hilary Hood; and great granddaughter Erin Duncan. Doris touched our lives with her kindness, generosity, her humor, compassion and especially her love. The family would like to give special thanks to Nurse Tania at Hospice, and our very caring friends in the Basin City area. Memorial services will be Monday, December 19, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul's Catholic Church, 14181 Glade Rd. N in Eltopia, with inurnment to follow at Country View Cemetery in Basin City.
