Doris Elaine Medick, 80, of Kennewick, passed away Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at Avalon Rehabilitation Services in Pasco. She was born November 8, 1930 in Lemmon, South Dakota. Doris wed Donald Medick on May 20, 1949, they lived in eight states in their married life, but ended up in Kennewick, for the past 18 years. This was home. Doris and Don had two children Diane Medick of Kennewick, and Dennis Medick of Louisville, Kentucky. Don passed away in March of 2003 and Doris resided with her daughter in Kennewick until she had to be placed into Avalon. Doris was a 33-year member of the Women of the Moose Chapter 1204, a 20-year member of the Eagles Auxiliary and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary for 18 years. Doris was a true South Dakotan and made many trips back to her home town of Lemmon. There are numerous relatives who still reside in the Dakotas and that will always be her home. She is survived by her daughter Diane, son Dennis, her brother Eddy and wife Zona Rhoads, sisters-in-law, Betty Rhoads, Sherlyn Rhoads, brother-in-law Larry Jahnel, and numerous nieces and nephews whom she cherished dearly. She was preceded in death by her husband Donald, parents Roy & Alpha Rhoads, brothers, Lyle, Dale & Leonard, and her sister Norma Jahnel, her mother/father-in-law Ione and Raymond Ries, from Watertown, South Dakota. Memorial Services will be Thursday, July 7th, 2011, at 1:00 p.m., at Mueller's Tri-Cities Funeral Home, 1401 S Union, Kennewick, Washington with a gathering at the Moose Lodge, 2617 W Sylvester, Pasco, Washington. She never liked anyone to go hungry and she always tried to donate during the holidays.
