Deborah Lee Tegland formerly Deborah Hamilton of Umatilla, Oregon, died Friday morning at the age of 56. Debbie is survived by her newlywed husband of four months, Dewey Tegland; her three sisters, Cindy Keeth, Lori Lasack and Lisa Boyd; her nine children from her first marriage to Gerald D. Hamilton, Eric, Brian, Kiera, Kasie, Melissa, Curt, Stephanie, Aaron and Cole; and nine grandchildren, Langston, Anya, Estella, Madelyn, Cole, Cade, Angela, McKenzie and Ella. Viewing will be Tuesday, October 9, 2007, 5-8pm, at Mueller?s Tri-Cities Funeral Home 1401 S. Union, Kennewick and 10:00am-2:00pm Wednesday, October 10th at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints LDS Union Street Building 515 S. Union, Kennewick. Funeral Services will follow at the Union Street Building, at 2:00pm on Wednesday. Deborah Lee Bergan was born March 31st, 1951, in Fayetteville, North Carolina. She was the eldest of four girls. She was preceded in death by her parents Howard and Lois Bergan. The sudden accident that claimed her life devastated her family and friends. Over the past 14 years, Debbie has lived in the Tri-City area and frequently opened her home and her heart to help others. She was also beloved at the school where she taught music since 2000. Her family and friends honor a wonderful woman with a brilliant mind, a loving heart and a beautiful personality. She loved flowers and gardened often. Music was a great love of her life; she was always either playing it on her piano or dancing to it. Her children recall with gratitude how she overcame myriad challenges to successfully raise a large family and provided them with an enduring moral, intellectual and spiritual heritage. Her children are also thankful that they had enjoyed a first reunion together only five months earlier. Her untimely passing is mourned by all who knew her, but those who knew her best know of her firm faith in a just and loving Heavenly Father. As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Deborah?s righteousness and faith, and her belief in resurrection and eternal life serve as a comfort to the many who loved her.
