Debbie was born on April 30, 1956, in Mobridge, South Dakota to Ruth and Jerry Hand and went home to heaven on February 19, 2008. She spent her freshman through junior years at Langdon High School in North Dakota and graduated from Kamiakin High School in Kennewick, Washington in 1974. Debbie spent many years as a police support specialist with both the Kennewick and Richland Police Departments. Affectionately known as "Officer Deb" to family members, public service and working with people was her calling in life. Her death at such a young age has shocked and saddened those who knew and worked with her for many years. Debbie is survived by her daughter, Danielle Rider, of Richland; sister Diane McDaniel of Seattle; sister and brother-in-law Mary and Mike Faragher of Kennewick; brother and sister-in-law John and Susan Hand of Kennewick; brother Tom Hand of Richland; nephews Mathew McDaniel, Robert Faragher, Terry Hand, Dustin Bednarski and nieces Jackie Faragher Farnham and Destiny Bednarski. Debbie was preceded in death by her parents Ruth and Jerry Hand and her nephew Joshua McDaniel. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held on Friday, February 22nd at 2:00 p.m. at Mueller's Tri-Cities Funeral Home, 1401 S. Union in Kennewick, with burial to follow at Desert Lawn Memorial Park.
