David Lewis Brimhall passed away May 27, 2013, at Richland Gardens. He was born June 25, 1943, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to David Jex Brimhall and Naomi Lewis Brimhall. When he was one year old, his father was offered a position at Hanford, and the family, which included two older sisters, moved to Richland. Subsequently, two more sisters joined the family. David attended Richland schools, and even at an early age began collecting items that interested him, particularly antique objects. This became a lifelong hobby. In 1957, the family moved to Kennewick. He graduated from Kennewick High School in 1962, where he was on the gymnastics team and earned recognition as a Washington State best all-around gymnast. David joined the Navy after his graduation and received electronics training in Memphis, Tennessee. He then served as an aviation electronics technician at Barbers Point, Honolulu, Hawaii. After completing his tour of duty, he spent a year at Brigham Young University on an athletics scholarship. He worked for a short time for Burlington Northern Railroad in Pasco, but soon moved to California to resume working as an electronics technician. He was subsequently employed as an electronics engineer in the Missiles & Space Division of Lockheed, where he worked for 32 years until retirement. David met and married Diana West in California. A son, David Lance, and a daughter, Denise, were born to them before they divorced. After retirement, David returned to his roots in the Tri-Cities and lived in his home high on a hill overlooking Benton City. He enjoyed the serenity and view for several years before his health began to fail. He was predeceased by his parents. He is survived by his son, David Lance (Donna), of West Valley, Utah; his daughter, Denise, of Novato, California; his sisters Karol Smith (Bud), Dee Jenkins, Janet Robertson (David), and Nancy Mace (Gene); all of the Tri-Cities; in addition to numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 1st, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at the Union Building, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 515 S. Union, Kennewick. A private family interment at Desert Lawn Memorial Park will follow.
