Obituary

David Hudnall departed this world on January 22, 2007, at Banner Good Samaritan Hospital in Phoenix, AZ. He was born on December 31, 1947, at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Pasco. He was born to Martin and Alyce Hudnall. The family lived in Kennewick, WA, until 1954 when they moved to Grandview, WA. David received his early education at Grandview schools and graduated from Grandview High School in 1966. During high school he did well in his studies and was very talented in art. After high school he went to Central Washington University and studied art. He received his Bachelors of Arts degree in 1970. At this time he was accepted into the MA program in art at CWU. He was in the graduate program for a short time when he was called to serve in the Army. He served a year of duty in Vietnam. When he left the Army he returned to CWU to finish his master?s degree. In 1973 he applied for an assistantship in the Masters of Fine Arts program at Arizona State University. He was accepted into the program and moved to Tempe, Arizona, of that year. David?s interests changed during the next few years, and he worked and took classes in horticulture. Over the past twenty-five years he has worked in several plant nurseries in the Phoenix area. His love of plants and their cultivation made him a dedicated worker in the plant nursery business. For the past nine years David had worked at Summer Winds nurseries in Phoenix and in Mesa. David was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Martin Hudnall. He is survived by his brothers: Richard Hudnall and wife, Marian, of Othello, WA; Ronald Hudnall of Prosser; and Bill Hudnall of Grandview, WA. He is also survived by his nieces: Kristin Hudnall of Prosser, WA, and Allison Hudnall of Kennewick, WA; and by his nephew, Jonathan Hudnall of Pasco, WA. He is survived by his cousins: Joyce Komorek of Kennewick, WA; Kathy Olafson and husband, Orvil Desgranges, of Kennewick; Ruth Hubbard and husband, Dale, of Kent, WA; Terry Kuhlmey and husband, Harry, of Kent, WA: Evie Johnson of Los Osos, CA; Marta Johnson of San Luis Obispo, CA,; Lynn Johnson and wife, Jill, of Fresno, CA; Joe Buchanan and wife, Marleen, of Redmond, WA; Bruce Kenyon and wife, Darhl, of Sumner, WA; Joan Mattson of Salem, OR; Patsy Smith and husband, Peyton, of Seattle, WA; and Mary Lou Kroening and husband, Jerry, of Newport, WA. Graveside services for David will be held at Riverview Heights Cemetery, Kennewick, WA, on Tuesday, January 30, at 2:00 in the afternoon. The family requests that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society or Hospice in care of Muellers Funeral Home, 314 West First Ave., Kennewick, WA, 99336.
