Kennewick, WA — In loving memory of Darl Duran, who passed away in his sleep on September 10, 2022, in Kennewick, WA. Born July 9, 1958, in Richland, WA, to Jim and Darlene Rogers, he was adopted by his maternal aunt and her husband, Sylvia and Daniel (Tony) Duran in 1967. Darl was a devoted son, brother, uncle and friend. He was always willing to help anyone in need. Darl was a talented chef who worked for decades at various restaurant establishments in Reno, NV, Lacey, WA, and the Tri-Cities, WA. He most recently worked as a sous chef at The Red Lion in Pasco, WA. His family and friends often persuaded him to prove his talents by cooking at social gatherings. His idol was The Galloping Gourmet Graham Kerr, whom he had the pleasure of meeting. He said this was the highlight of his life. Darl had many interests such as hunting, fishing, mechanics, woodworking, and carpentry, to name a few. He loved being on the water. He had much pride in his motorcycles and cars. Up until the end he was helping friends with their broken down cars, restoring furniture, and performing home repairs. Darl's sense of humor and infectious laughter will always be remembered, as well as his steadfast devotion to his family and friends. He was predeceased by his biological parents, Jim Rogers and Darlene Nigo, siblings Connie and Paul Duran, nephew Tejae Carlson, and ex-wife Renee. He was survived by his mother, Sylvia, who passed away on February 26, 2023. He is survived by his father, Tony, sisters Susan (Robert), Beki (Mike), Stacey (Dave), and Debbie, brothers Rick and Dan, nieces and nephews Robert, Autumn (Matt), Daniel (Ka tie), Lane (Rebecca), Lizzy, Robbie, Tasha (Jason), Josh, Bella (Danyal), and ex-wife Norma, plus many great nieces and nephews. There will be a funeral mass at St. Joseph's Catholic Church (small church) in Kennewick, WA, 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 28, 2023, followed by interment at Desert Lawn Memorial Park, and reception at St. Joseph's Dillon Hall.
