Danell Dee (Jolly) Hudlow died September 7, 2013 at Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland, WA. She passed away peacefully surrounded by several of her children after a short battle with leukemia. Danell was born November 24, 1932 in Wenatchee, WA to Dan and Harriet Jolly. She was the oldest of three daughters. The family moved from Coulee City to Connell in 1941 where Danell attended Connell schools, graduating from Connell High School in 1951. She attended one year at Whitworth College and one year at Washington State College before marrying her high school sweetheart, Arnold Hudlow, on August 29, 1953. They settled on the family wheat farm outside of Connell in 1955. Danell would say her occupation was a homemaker, but it was so much more than that. She and Arnold had 3 children of their own and took in and raised 3 of her nieces and nephews who lost their parents in 1969. She considered all six children her own and raised them with a loving hand. She found time to be active in the Connell United Methodist Church, P.E.O., Grange, and was a life-long Girl Scout. She spent many hours volunteering her time and talents. Danell and Arnold were instrumental in organizing the Connell Heritage Museum. History, heritage and genealogy were passions of theirs. Danell loved to travel and had the opportunity to see much of the world. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold Hudlow, sister, Janis Pavel, and son, Dan Pavel. She is survived by her sister, Sandra (Merlin) Wallace, her children, Jodi (Barrie) McDougall, Jeri (Tim) Erdman, Wayde (Kathy) Hudlow, Jamie (Terry) Utecht, and Sam Pavel; 12 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; several nieces and a nephew. A memorial service will be held at the Connell United Methodist Church, located at 104 S Burke Ave, in Connell, WA, Oct. 4th at 11:00 a.m. A family graveside service will be held at Mountain View Cemetery outside of Connell.
