Dana LaRue Bowlin, age 79, was greeted in heaven by her Lord and Savior on August 19, 2014. Born August 21, 1934, Dana grew up in the Salt Lake City, UT area. She moved to Sacramento, CA where she met the love of her life, Roger Bowlin. Dana and Roger relocated to Kennnewick, WA in 1982. Dana was a homemaker, and avid knitter and a world class giver and receiver of hugs. She never met a stranger, she immediately considered you her friend. She was always showing off the latest pictures of her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Dana is survived by her loving husband of 60 years Roger, daughter Deborah Wood (Randy), son Michael Bowlin, and daughter Elizabeth York (Brian), grandchildren Lori Sakota (Andrew), Brian Schmidt, and Jacob York, great-grandchildren Cierra, Kylie, and Trenton Sakota, her sister Elaine Bodell, and numerous nieces and nephews. Dana was preceded in death by her parents Daniel and Catherine Gerber of Utah, brothers Neil of California, and Gordon of Utah, and grandson Kyle Jacob Wood. Dana came to know Jesus as her personal Lord and Savior in 1963. Her church family held a very important spot in her heart. A memorial service celebrating Dana's life will be held at South Hills Church, Kennewick on Monday, August 25, 2014 at 11:00 a.m.; with a reception to follow.
