Charles A. Salter, 80, of Kennewick, WA passed away September 30, 2015, with family present. Charles was born September 21, 1935 in Three Rivers, Michigan to Harley and Ruth Salter. He proudly served his country, stationed at Fort Knox and Hanford Area where he met his future wife of 60 years. Charles married Jeannette Whitney on January 10, 1955 in Coeur d' Alene, Idaho. Together they had six children and later raised two additional children. Charles made his living as a Chevron Mechanic before retiring. He enjoyed fishing and his family. He was preceded in death by his daughter Kathy Bartholomew. He is survived by his wife Jeannette and children Sharon (Mike) Burnside, Ron (Barbara) Salter, Diane (Alfred) Rogers, Teresa Salter, Ken Salter, Justin Whitney, Nicole Salter, 13 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, October 13, 2015, 1:00 p.m., at Desert Lawn Memorial Park, 10th and Union Street, Kennewick.
