Obituary

In loving memory of Celina Patricia Medina MacFarlan, RN born 1930 of Kennewick, the guiding light of the MacFarlan clan. God?s special gift to our family was returned to Him much too soon in a tragic traffic accident on November 8th, 2007. Celina is survived by her beloved husband Robert, and her six children; Debbie Bair and her husband Kirk of Pasco, Dr. Mark MacFarlan and his wife Cynthia of Pasco, Paul MacFarlan and his wife Barbara of Kennewick, Robert MacFarlan and his wife April of Portland, Gary MacFarlan and his wife Tricia of Richland, and William MacFarlan and his wife Deanna of Richland. She was the proud grandmother of eleven grandchildren; Brian, Maigan, Kevin, Jessica, Melissa, Eric, Katie, Kayla, Mariah, Genna, and finally the newest member of the family Tessa. Celina was born in the small Colorado town of Capulin. She was a part of a loving family of 13, setting the foundation for managing her own family of five boys and one girl. This is also where she married her husband Robert in 1952. Celina was a long-time resident of the Tri-Cities, moving here in 1966. She worked as a registered nurse for over 50 years, across several states. Where there was need, she was there. Later, she came to the aid of detox patients, worked with hospice patients and provided gentle, loving, in-home care to the terminally ill children and adults. Being a devout Catholic, she enjoyed an active, long-standing membership in both St. Patrick?s Roman Catholic Church in Pasco and also attended St. Joseph?s Catholic Church in Kennewick. Friends are invited to join the family for mass on Saturday, November 17th in the old St. Joseph?s Church in Kennewick at 3:00 PM. Rosary will be held at 2:00 PM. St. Joseph?s closely resembles the Church in which she and her husband Robert were married. Burial services will be held at Mueller?s Funeral Home in Kennewick on Monday November 19th at 2:00 PM. Celina openly welcomed all into her heart and into her home and she has touched the lives of many. Her family deeply appreciates the outpouring of compassion and support. Heartfelt thanks go out to the Pasco Police Department, as well as the medical personnel who tried so hard to save her at both Lady of Lourdes and Kadlec. In lieu of flowers, if you wish, the family is requesting donations be sent to Celina Patricia MacFarlan, RN at HAPO Credit Union, Kennewick where the funds will be used to establish a scholarship endowment for local nursing students.
